Unlike incandescent halogen lamps, gas discharge lamps do not have a filament; instead, an arc shines between two electrodes. This is generated by an electronically controlled gas discharge in a small quartz burner. The burner itself is filled with xenon gas, metal salts and other additives. The system includes an electronic starter and electronic ballast with cable set. The electronic ballasts start and regulate the discharge arc. XENARC lamps, the ballast and the associated connecting and interconnecting cables form an optimally matched system solution.
